Guest Blog: Perspectives

Today, we have something a different… our first guest blogger: a former client who shares her perspectives on her journey into, through and out of bankruptcy.

Perspectives

So many people are one paycheck away from disaster. This past week two of my friend’s husbands got laid off.  I wonder ‘are they OK?’

Really… My husband and I always put a good front on despite sinking deeper and deeper into debt.  I’d like to relay to those in a financial “crush” or crisis…that the time to act is now!

Put aside your fears of what people may think; your friends and family aren’t facing and living what you are.  Forget the debt consolidation companies, you will be in the same place, if not worse a year later.  The time to act is now!

Call reputable attorney (such as McLeod Law Offices), get good sound advice and start the work towards financial freedom.

In the beginning, it was difficult for my husband and I to face each other and all our debt.  Yet our personal journey has strengthened our commitment to each other and helped us make more sound financial choices.  It took awhile to get into the position we were in.  If you have patience and listen to your attorney, you will ultimately get there.

But get “there” before you loose your home, your family, any sense of yourself.  Everyone makes mistakes and some things are beyond control.  There is light at the end of the tunnel and those piles of credit card debt.  There is a freedom and abundance found when you truly appreciate what you have and live within your means.  My husband and I are feeling more abundant then we ever did thanks to good, sound advice and a great attorney and law firm.  The joy we are feeling now comes from within and we are so grateful we took the steps!

I never thought my husband and I would ever face something like this.  Bankruptcy?!  Who does?  But there is a way to move past the fear and take positive steps toward a more sound financial future.  It may seem really difficult now, but know that you will be as happy as we now are!  -L

Great entry! It’s unique to read this from a real person instead of an attorney (no offense WM :-) )
